Michael Campbell It is now 25th February 2023 and this album is still on preorder when it was supposed to be released in October 2022. I have to say that I am very disappointed in Bandcamp, I have received nothing to explain the delay in release of this album. I have stopped following the 45 King as the producer it ( in my opinion) is his reputation and he has done nothing about it as far as I am aware. Favorite track: Baritone.

The 45 King set the world on fire with his genre-defining break beat track “The 900 Number” (that an entire generation knows as the Ed Lover Dance song from Yo! MTV Raps). Soon after he made an even bigger name for himself by producing Queen Latifah’s debut album and many other classics from foundational hip hop imprint Tommy Boy.

As his career continued he gave the world a whole host of massive hits including Jay-Z’s “Hard Knock Life” and Eminem’s “Stan” as well as dozens and dozens of remix tracks for some of the world’s biggest artists.

To create the tracks on this new series of 45s from the recently relaunched Westbound Records, The 45 King was given unprecedented access to the label's archive of rescued master tapes. Using the music of Junie Morrison and Ohio Players, The 45 King created these brand new tracks that harken back to the original, iconic breakbeat songs that helped make him one of the all-time greats in hip hop production.
